GORGES OF AIT MANSOUR<\/div>\n

The Gorges of A\u00eft Mansour is the outing to embark on to discover its first oasis or to take a beautiful bike trip for the more athletic among you. Do not hesitate to climb the path which runs along the gorges, as this will give you a superb view of the oasis. The place is relaxing, you can also eat there. The return to Tafraoute can be done by the loop which goes through Timgdicht and Tizerkine (29.585353, -8.795838). <\/em><\/p>\n

How to get there: <\/em><\/p>\n

To get to the gorges of Ait Mansour, take the R107 (south), and turn left at the fork 6 km further up the road (29.663502, -8.960524). A magnificent uphill road (700 meters of vertical drop for cycling enthusiasts), before descending (500 meters of vertical drop) towards the gorges of A\u00eft Mansour (29.547849, -8.876524).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

THE PAINTED ROCKS – WORK OF JEAN V\u00c9RAME<\/div>\n

Nestled in the magnificent Almenn valley, the village of Tafraoute is surrounded by famous blocks of pink granite.<\/em> In the middle of this setting is one of the most surprising artistic creations of the region: Painted Rocks (29.672352, -8.972628) by Aguerd Oudad.<\/em> In 1984, the Belgian artist Jean V\u00e9rame painted a dozen blocks of rocks in blue in the town of Aguerd Oudad, near Tafraout. <\/em><\/p>\n

Whether we like it or not, this work does not leave us indifferent. In fact, there are even those who love this psychedelic setting.<\/em> There is something for everyone.<\/em> What to<\/em> see …<\/em><\/p>\n

Arriving from Tafraoute, you reach this surprising site via a trail starting on the right at point (29.672352, -8.972628). The trail winds through piles of painted rocks. It’s a true curiosity !!!<\/em> If you are by car, take the opportunity to continue on the Gorges of Ait Mansour (29.547849, -8.876524). The place is relaxing, you can also eat there.<\/em><\/p>\n

WALK IN THE AMMELN VALLEY<\/div>\n

Take your walking shoes and go on an adventure. Everything is suitable for hiking and discovering the villages of the valley. The Ammeln valley, at the foot of Jbel Lkest<\/a> , alone is home to most of the region’s villages. In spring, the valley is covered with flowers and makes the landscape absolutely beautiful! Several villages allow you to visit traditional houses. <\/em><\/p>\n

Point of interest: The Lion’s Head is a famous rock in Jbel Lkest which dominates the valley of Ammeln. The Lion’s Head is mainly seen as you look north from the crossroads where the road to Agadir is taken (29.752882, -8.965273). The shadows that draw the eyes and the mouth are more easily observed around 3 p.m. <\/em><\/p>\n

A real postcard to discover while hiking from Tafraoute<\/a> . The village has a special character with its traditional houses, its pink mosque at the foot of a smooth granite massif and its almond trees. <\/em><\/p>\n
