If you go through Akka Ighane, the ksars of Isseghrine and Tissekmoudine are a must see to understand what oasis life could be like in these abandoned villages today.<\/em> Located 5 km southwest of Akka Ighane, the ksar of Tiskmoudine (29.963018, -7.551340) is a compulsory visit if you are around Akka Ighane. <\/em><\/p>\n

AROUND A COLLECTIVE GRANARY<\/div>\n

The fortified village of Tiskmoudine is located in the heart of an oasis and surrounded by the palm grove.<\/em> It was built around a large collective granary which has a walkway and which includes a mosque.<\/em><\/p>\n

Today, largely abandoned, the village has been the subject of a restoration campaign to maintain access to it.<\/em><\/p>\n

How to get there:<\/em><\/p>\n

From Agadir, head in the direction of Taroudant, then take the P1706 to Aoulouz, and finally take the N10 to Taliouine.<\/em> When you have passed Taliouine, turn right (30.471271, -7.842794) and continue on the P1743 road to Akka Ighane (via Agadir Melloul).<\/em> In Akka Ighane, head south on the P1743 road.<\/em><\/p>\n

The fortified villages of Tissekmoudine (29.963018, -7.551340) and Isserghine (29.948410, -7.565535) are in the middle of their own palm groves.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n
