A Ksar built around a granary – near Akka Ighane
Trip from Agadir: 4 hours 30 mins / 305 km
The Ksars of Isseghrine and Tissekmoudine, now abandoned but partially restored, are fabulous testimonies of oasis life. It is a visit that we recommend. Located 5 km southwest of Akka Ighane, the Ksar d’Isserghine (29.948664, -7.565427) encloses a collective granary (agadir) adjoining a small religious complex.
How to get there :
From Agadir, head in the direction of Taroudant, then take the P1706 to Aoulouz, and finally take the N10 to Taliouine. When you have passed Taliouine, turn right (30.471271, -7.842794) and continue on the P1743 road to Akka Ighane (via Agadir Melloul). At Akka Ighane (Oasis), head south on the P1743 road.
The fortified villages of Tiskmoudine (29.963018, -7.551340) and Isserghine (29.948410, -7.565535) are in the middle of their own palm groves.
