Magic Bay – Surf Paradise
Journey from Agadir: 1h45mn / 90kms
Imsouane (30.839026, -9.820027) is a small fishing village north of Agadir between Taghazout and Essaouira. The first time you arrive in Imsouane, you have the impression of arriving at the other end of the world, far from everything, perched on top of the cliffs with a 360 ° view of the ocean.
Quiet and relaxing, Imsouane is a true haven of peace with its own atmosphere. There is no bank, no supermarket, only small houses, small fish restaurants, fishing boats, the mountains and the ocean.
The landscape is breathtaking between the Arganeraie Reserve, the cliffs and these lines of perfect waves breaking. A small fishing port was built but the long and legendary straight lines of Imsouane Bay are still there. It is the perfect place for an unforgettable surf lesson.
- The Bay :
The decor is impressive. The gigantic bay is surrounded by rocky cliffs. When we surf in the bay, we just have the impression of being at the show. It is the spot for longboarders that offers a straight line that can roll over more than 800 meters! This wave allows rapid progress.
- Cathedral and Reef :
On the other side of the point, you will find several well-defined peaks on the Reef and Cathedrale spots, both more exposed to the swell. The Cathedral spot is accessible for surfers in progress when there are not too many waves.
How to get there:
From Agadir, take the N1 road going north (coastal road), the spot (30.839026, -9.820027) is located at the pier of the port of Imsouane.
