Bird Watching – Oued Souss

Mouth of the Oued Souss – Ramsar classified site

Journey from Agadir: 20 mins / 12 km

OBSERVATION OF MIGRATORY BIRDS
In the territory of the municipality of Inezgane, you will find nice walks along the Oued Souss which meets the ocean. Located at the northern limit of the park, 10 km south of the city of Agadir, this area rich in invertebrates attracts many species of shorebirds such as the White Stilt, the Red-backed Stilt as well as black-headed gulls and brown gulls.

The walk along the bank is very relaxing; the number of birds you will be able to observe depends on the season.

How to get there:

From Agadir, join Inezgane via the N10 head in the direction of the mouth (30.365407, -9.601839) located south of the golf courses. You can also come by bike from Agadir.

What is a Ramsar site?

The objective of the Ramsar Convention (Iran), ratified in 1971, is to stop the tendency towards the disappearance of wetlands and to promote their conservation, as well as that of their flora and fauna (water birds) and to promote their rational use.

The wetlands concerned must be of international importance from an ecological, botanical, zoological, limnological (continental water) or hydrological point of view.
