100% Caving trip
Location: Souss Massa region
The Souss Massa is a particularly favorable terrain for caving, given the importance of the limestone outcroppings and the considerable scope of the karst networks they contain. There are many chasms which attract caving fans.
The country of Ida Outanane (near Agadir) offers several possibilities of exploration subject to the authorizations to be obtained. The Win-Timdouine Cave / Cave of the Lakes ( 30.680409, -9.344770) is, to date, the longest underground karst network known in North Africa. It constitutes a gigantic network comprising a series of lakes arranged along its 19 km of galleries.
Eddir (30.293961, -8.483926) with the Cave of Wonders and Tasserga ( 30.053847, -8.575226) with the Cave of the Cow also offer possibilities for exploration.
An artificial pool is located at the entrance of the cave to put you directly in the mood. You will then have to immerse yourself completely in cold water that will make you forget the hot sun of Souss Massa. You will cross the first lakes of the active cave. After the fourth lake, you will cross some scree and you will reach the chamber, the most beautiful part of the cave whose wonders justify all the efforts made to get there. It is then necessary to contemplate the numerous draperies on the ceiling with delicate and harmonious shapes. Please note, as of today, its exploration is subject to authorization.
