Welcome to the town of Tata, surrounded by its magnificent oases spread over the Tata oued, a tributary of the Drâa. Take your time to visit these oases on foot or by bike and understand the ancestral system of khettara (underground canals) and the water clock still used to this day for distribution between agricultural plots.
From the top of the village of Agadir Lehna (29.769167, -7.983333), you will have a panoramic view of these palm groves. In Tata, the a beautiful bike ride will take you on a visit of the oases, the old town and the Messalites Caves (indicated by a sign on the right 7 km north of Tata – Route de Tleta Tagmoute).
How to get there:
From Agadir, head in the direction of Taroudant via the N10 road and then take the R109 (direction Igherm) at point: 30.482400, -8.757715. Once in Igherm, take the P1805 road towards Tleta Tagmoute, which you will follow until the town of Tata.
In Tata, to access the village of Agadir Lhena, go north towards Tleta Tagmoute via the P1805 and then take the road on the left just after the ford (29.774547, -7.978123). Continue to the end of the village and then follow the path to the palm grove on foot.
