The coast north of Agadir remains a beautiful family destination as well as a nice place to live. A restful and 100% natural environment will make you love this part of Souss Massa. Swimming in the ocean, hiking in the Arganeraie and delicious fish dishes will leave you with wonderful memories of this region.
The village of Imsouane, located 100 kilometers (1 hour 45 mins drive) north of Agadir offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of Souss Massa (30.835262, -9.800294) with a breathtaking view of the bay and the village.
There are 2 beautiful beaches around the village:
1 – The most protected beach from the swell (very pleasant at low tide) is the Imsouane Bay beach (30.840097, -9.812820) which is a mythical spot for all longboarders around the world.
2 – The beach most exposed to the swell is called “Cathedral” (30.841746, -9.821897). The village of Imsouane has its own rhythm: surfing, walks (along the coast or in the argan grove overlooking the village), fish dishes and the sunset. There you will find many accommodations and restaurants.
Tamri Plage (30.708125, -9.855923) is about 1 hour’s drive north of Agadir. The village offers a beautiful sandy beach at the mouth of the Oued Tamri covered with plantations (banana, papaya and pomegranate). Not very far from the mouth – to the North, your change of scenery will be guaranteed with an area of sand dunes and cliffs. The center of the village offers possibilities for dining and buying local products.
Tamri is a perfect destination for a family beach day and can be a good point of interest for surfers looking for beaches more exposed to the swell.
La Source beach (30.549931, -9.732860) is 30 minutes north of Agadir. Easy to find, it is located a few hundred meters north of the village of Taghazout. You can park in the Hôtel de La Source car park (30.549521, -9.732071). The beach looks like a cove and it is recommended for a family beach day.
La Source (30.549251, -9.733203) is also a surf spot accessible to all levels.
The beaches of Aghroud (30.604756, -9.780586) and Imi Ouaddar (30.589430, -9.762905) are 2 very extensive beaches 45 minutes by car north of Agadir (30kms). From these 2 beaches, you have direct access to the backcountry including the famous Vallée du Paradis and the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve . An Aquatic Park (Atlantica Parc) is nearby with the possibility of eating on site.

To discover this northern coastline, follow the N1 coastal road from Agadir towards Essaouira and follow the GPS indications given in this article. For your information, you can take bus 33 Agadir – Tamri as far as Tamri beach.
