Remnant of the Almohad dynasty – Akka Oasis
Trip from Agadir: 4 hours 30 mins / 280 km
You will find this square-shaped minaret resembling the Hassan Tower of Rabat, in Ait Rahal north of Akka (on the road to Imitek). The magnificent minaret of the old ″ Lalla Baytou Allah ″ mosque of the Kasbah of Agadir Amghar takes you back to the time of the Almohad dynasty (12th century).
Akka was once known as a political and religious center near the mining and caravan town of Tamdoult. This large city, founded in the 9th century by the Idrissids, was a hub of the trans-Saharan trade in precious metals.
How to get there:
From Tata, take the N12 towards Akka. When you arrive in Akka, take an immediate right. Following the same road for 7 km, turn left at the crossroads to go to the Minaret (29.435706, -8.267209). Going there, you will pass in front of Agadir Owzro (29.419414, -8.247846) which you will see perched on a cliff to your right.
