A Palm Grove in the Mountains
Trip from Agadir: 2 hours 30 mins / 110 km
Targa N’touchka is a 100% natural place to walk which offers incredible landscapes to take in. Targa N’Touchka owes its reputation to its palm grove and its souk. With its century-old date palms, the Targa N’Touchka palm grove is the only palm grove in the province of Chtouka Aït Baha .
This is irrigated by 3 springs, one of which is known for its healing properties (kidneys). You will notice the large traditional building, Taggenza Ifferd, which dominates the palm grove.
You can walk or cycle there, or gather around a picnic in the shade of these palm trees. The palm grove remains a safe bet for hiking departures or arrivals (between Ait Moussa and Targua N’Touchka for example).
How to get there:
From Agadir, take the N10 road south towards Biougra via the R105 and on to Aït Baha. In Ait Baha, head towards the village center on your right, then on towards Tanalt. At point: 30.039482, -9.232462, turn left towards Targua N’Touchka.
Once arrived in the Targua N’touchka palm grove, you can make a loop through Aouguenz and the magnificent valley of Aït Moussa. You cross several Berber villages before returning to Ait Baha.
