TAMRI: THE GREEN ESTUARY
Journey from Agadir: 45 minutes
Tamri (30.708125, -9.855923) is a village located on the estuary of Oued Tamri 45 minutes drive north of Agadir. We reach Tamri by the coastal road N1 (towards Essaouira). The surrounding nature is still preserved: you will find palm trees, argan trees and especially banana trees in the estuary.
The beaches, cliffs, and coves hidden behind their wave-sculpted rocks offer breathtaking views. Note that 20 kilometers north of Tamri there is an area of sand dunes (30.764155, -9.821820) near the coastal road, where children will be happy to play and ride.
There is the possibility of buying products from cooperatives linked to argan, crafts and of course, bananas from Tamri. You can find snacks to taste in the center of the village. Around the mouth, you may have the chance to see a colony of bald ibis, the emblematic bird of Souss Massa or various other migratory birds. It will also be a great place for a vacation photo shoot.
How to get there:
From Agadir, follow the N1 (coastal road heading north) – Route d’Essaouira. To get there, you will pass Cap Ghir and its lighthouse and finally you will reach the mouth of the Oued Tamri (Tamri surf spot ) and its famous banana plantations. Continue on to the center of the village ( 30.698307, -9.824698).
