A taste of the desert
Journey from Agadir: 1 hour 45 mins by car
At 1 hour 30 mins south of Agadir, discover a taste of the Sahara: the Dunes of Rasmouka. A natural phenomenon means that we find a few square kilometers of fine sand dunes very close to the coast and Agadir. This mini Sahara gives visitors the impression of being in the middle of the Desert or the Iriki National Park . This place is very accessible for families with children.
The whole family will have fun climbing the giant dunes! The best time will obviously be the sunset … In Arbaa Rasmouka, tourist agencies offer bivouacs and walks (camels, horses or donkeys).
How to get there:
To reach the village of Arbaa Rasmouka, take the N1 south (Tiznit). After the village of Belfaa, before the bridge crossing the Oued Massa, turn left (29.959758, -9.594876) following the sign “artificial lake Youssef Ibn Tachefin”. Continue south to the lake. This immense water reserve irrigates the agricultural plain of Chtouka Aït Baha (in the north). From the dam where it is possible to stop for the viewpoint (29.843341, -9.497796), drive seven kilometers to Arbaa Rasmouka. At the mosque, go around it to the left.
