The Country of Ida Ougnidif will seduce the whole family, with its relief, its villages clinging to the mountains, its architectural treasures and the authenticity of its rural population.
A beautiful trip to the Province of Chtouka Ait Baha to immerse yourself in Ida Ougnidif’s weekly Souk and dream in front of the Kasbah of Tizourgane (National Heritage) and its secrets: narrow streets, century-old wooden doors, traditional stone walls.
In this souk, you will find all the local products (almonds and argan seeds in particular). Take the opportunity to discover and buy local crafts (bags, slippers, basketry, silver jewelry) at an affordable price.
How to get there:
By following Road R105 towards Tafraoute, 40 kilometers after Ait Baha, turn right at the point (29.888636, -8.999565), you will arrive at the village of Souk Lkhmis d’Ida Ougnidif (29.860446, – 9.008000) five kilometers down the road.
A true small fortified village, the Kasbah of Tizourgane has been rehabilitated thanks to massive work undertaken by the owners, which continues today. The Kasbah has been renovated respecting the original construction techniques. It has now become a guest house / gîte which allows you to enjoy this magical place that children will certainly love.
The view over the valley from the terrace is impressive and you only need to walk a few kilometers to discover hiking or visit rural souks. A real immersion to discover the authenticity of Berber culture. In February, the argan and almond trees, in bloom, enhance the beauty of the place.
