Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve, Paradise Valley and Souss Massa National Park
A 4-day itinerary that invites you to discover the coastline, its beaches and cliffs, and the Mountain Oases of the Land of Ida Outanane. This itinerary culminates in a visit to the famous Paradise Valley, the treasures of the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve and Flora & Fauna of Souss Massa National Park .
Day 01

From Agadir, you will follow the N1 road (coastal road, northbound) towards TAMRI. The road runs along the coast with splendid views of beautiful beaches surrounded by stunning, untouched landscape and vegetation (euphorbia). We will pass through several well-known localities including the village of Taghazout, Aghroud and Cap Ghir (lighthouse). Once arrived in Tamri, feel free to go for a walk on the beach, explore the mouth of the oued and the banana plantation. You will find in the center of the village a souk – weekly market (Monday) and shops and snacks for lunch. After lunch, and a few more kilometers, northbound along the coastal road, you will come upon a dune landscape and astonishing vegetation (patches of euphorbia). Continue further into the backcountry, and its very steep relief, from the GPS point (30.779056, -9.795472) to reach the reservoir of the Prince Moulay Abdellah dam. Once at the dam, there is the possibility of walking / picnicking on the shores of the lake (fishing activities planned in advance: black-bass, silver carp, sun perch) or to discover a magnificent track (4×4 or mountain biking) around the lake. At the end of the day, return to Tamri (Accommodation possible).

Day 02

Departing from Tamri, take the P1002 (eastbound) along the Tamri oued with its banana and palm groves. You can then stop in the beautiful valley of Iraren (30.697368, -9.559892) to discover its variety of food crops: banana, pomegranate, avocado, papaya, fig trees … (guided tour possible upon request from the local agricultural cooperative). At Targa Injaaf (30.683826, -9.536294) turn right to discover the oasis of Timkti. Continue along the road to Aqesri (30.616858, -9.498443) where you will find a souk – market on Mondays. During your journey, you will discover an incredible relief typical of the Western High Atlas with its argan trees, gorges and mountain oases. When you reach Paradise Valley (parking lot: 30.588767, -9.531829), you can take a nice walk to the natural pools. After a possible lunch break at Paradise Valley, you will go to the village of Alma where you have the opportunity to visit various cooperatives: Argan, Jewelry, Painting. Then head in the direction of the ” Country of Messguina ” by turning right (30.512786, -9.590710) towards the village of Anounfeg where you can take in a panoramic view of the city of Agadir. Take the P1006 northbound, there is a possibility to take a walk through the gorges of Azrarag via the argan forest at the foothills of the Western High Atlas to end the day. This route was, until the 19th century, the trade route for caravans from the Sahara. Several vestiges bear witness to this period (Mosque / Medersa d’Aguerd and the old Saadian tombs ). While being close to Agadir, you are in the heart of the Biosphere Reserve of the Arganeraie – High Western Atlas and you have several possibilities of accommodation in a 100% natural environment. Itinerary of the day: Tamri – Askens – Timkti – Aqesri – Valley of Paradise – Valley of Paradise – Alma – Anounfeg – Pays de Mesguina

Day 03

From Agadir, follow the N1- road towards TIZNIT (South). Carefully follow the signs to reach Souss Massa National Park . Several options are possible:
- Souss Massa National Park Animal Reserve (30.289792, -9.561270).
- Tifnit (30.200713, -9.640782) = Fishing village, cave houses and very beautiful beach.
- Sidi R’bat (30.085687, -9.663549), where you will follow the beach to the left to observe migratory birds in the mouth of the wadi (30.073841, -9.666693)
- Souk – Massa weekly market (29.992074, -9.643559), Tuesday.

Day 04
1h30mn 100 Kms
In the village of Sidi R’bat (30.085687, -9.663549), continue on from the Auberge La Dune, to the path that leads to the right to reach the fishermen’s troglodyte houses facing the sea. There is the possibility to discover / visit a basketry cooperative in Tigmi Lejdid / Massa. You can have lunch in Massa or Sidi Wassay. From Sidi Wassay, continue in the direction (South) of Sidi Boulfdail (29.981772, -9.719456) through a landscape of fine sand dunes and panoramic views of the ocean (perfect for walking and relaxation …). You can either return to Agadir at the end of the day or you can continue to Aglou / Mirleft / Legzira (where you will have to stopover for the night / many accommodations available). Itinerary for the day: Sidi R’bat – Tigmi Lejdid – Sidi Wassay – Sidi Boulfdail – Agadir (or Aglou)

- Strolls on the beach, discovery of troglodyte houses.
