Taliouine is a favorite for its architectural and historical points of interest as well as its tradition of cultivating saffron. You will admire the architectural finesse of the Kasbah of Taliouine before going to discover the secrets of the traditional culture of this spice in the highlands. A very exotic tour which will also lead you to visit Taroudant and the picturesque Granaries of Ifri Imadidene !
Day 01

From Agadir, head in the direction of Taroudant which you will reach in 1 hour. There are several possible routes to get there. The main road is the N10. Before entering Taroudant, to the north you have the option of visiting a beautiful argan oil cooperative near Ouled Berhil –Talgjount (30.731037, -8.545303) by taking the road that goes to the Col du Tizi N ‘Test . It can be reached in an hour from Taroudant. Visiting this type of cooperative is an excellent way to understand the importance of the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve for the inhabitants of the Souss Massa region. When you return to Taroudant , you have the whole city to visit, its souks, tanneries and palaces! You must take time to enjoy the tour of the ramparts in a horse-drawn carriage at sunset.

Day 02

From Taroudant, take the P1706 to Aoulouz, then take the N10 back to Taliouine. In Taliouine, from the adjoining guest house, you will admire the architectural details of the Kasbah du Glaoui (30.523463, -7.905986), ex-Pasha of Marrakech. Then, take the time to stop at a cooperative to understand the importance of the traditional cultivation of saffron. First, try to visit the saffron fields. For your information, the harvest is carried out there starting in October. You can visit the “Maison du Safran” where there is the possibility of tasting a tagine flavored with this spice, a gastronomic marvel. Once the visit is over, pass Taliouine then turn right (30.471271, -7.842794), you have the possibility of visiting the Greniers d’Ifri Imadidene (30.445333, -7.839028). These granaries were built in relation to the configuration of the cliff overlooking the village. The site is restored and truly impressive. To schedule a visit, ask in the village for the “Amin” of the granary. Return to Agadir or Taroudant.
