17 kilometers northwest of Tiznit, discover Aglou , a fishing village. The site is a place where the sea meets the desert (huge sandy beaches, cliffs overlooking the ocean, sand dunes). There are caves carved into the cliffs by ancient fishermen. Some are equipped to spend the night there. South of the Corniche d’Aglou, head south towards Mirleft, where you will discover immense deserted beaches and several small coves including the fishing village of Sidi Boulfdail (29.668387, -9.983036).
How to get there :
From Tiznit, take the P1909 road northwest.
From Aglou (northwest), you will find great excursions to do in 4X4 (starting point: 29.803602, -9.825272), to Oued Massa or Tifnit. You will quickly find in this direction fitted out fishermen’s caves (29.811917, -9.828957) then the ornithological reserve of Oued Massa (Souss Massa National Park = 30.057156, -9.655337) which is a magnificent site for bird watching .
You will also find in Sidi R’bat (30.091839, -9.665463) an impressive beach with troglodyte dwellings. Sidi R’bat is a magnificent deserted beach to relax and live in the heart of the Souss Massa region natural park. Sidi R’bat is ideal for a stay by the sea.
The dunes of Arbaa Rasmouka (29.802597, -9.551616). There you find a few square kilometers of fine sand giving the impression of suddenly finding yourself in the dunes of a small Sahara. Ideal for making your children dream and run on large dunes.
The Youssef Ibn Tachfine Dam (29.846477, -9.494424) is a lake located about twenty minutes from the city of Tiznit. It is the perfect place to spend a nice picnic day with the family. There is the possibility of fishing there .
