Tiznit – Tafraoute Loop
Day 01

Follow the N1 towards Tiznit then turn right onto the P1016 at point: 29.989288, -9.591021 to Aglou plage. On this part of the route you have the possibility of visiting some coastal villages ( Tifnit for example) and the Souss Massa National Park or simply enjoying the beach. You have the option of continuing your route to Mirleft by following the 1905 coastal road south (this route offers 35km of coastal road).

Day 02

Once you arrive in Tiznit, you will have to go inside the city walls, and experience for yourself the energy radiating around the Place du Mechouar (29.697216, -9.731137) and the Source Bleue (29.700450, -9.726853), and to enjoy the charm and the peaceful atmosphere of the city itself. You will discover several kilometers of ramparts which surround its Medina. A real spectacle to behold.
Discover the Medina , its famous Jewelers Souk , Kasbah Aghanaj and the Great Mosque of Tiznit. The northern ramparts offer a beautiful view of the palm grove at sunset.

Destination Tafraoute – take the R104 to Tafraoute via the Kerdous pass. 3 kms from Tafraoute, the village of Aday (29.706270, -9.001250) is picturesque with its colorful mosque in the middle of large granite blocks. The Amelnn valley from Ameln (29.753204, -8.969222) is great idea for a walk at the end of the day. To see the famous “lion’s head” (rocky massif of Jbel Lkest which takes the shape of a lion’s head thanks to some interesting shadowplay), go to point: 29.753204, -8.969222 and look at the mountain heading north. The lion’s head is more easily seen around 3 p.m.

There are many outings to take part in: Tafraout market which is very pleasant and where you will find wonders of craftsmanship – Napoleon’s hat (29.697253, -8.964870) and Painted Rocks (29.672352, -8.972628) – Discovery of the villages of the Ammeln Valley (29.753204, -8.969222) and their traditional houses – The village of Tagdicht at the foot of Jbel Lkest – The village of Aday (29.705890, -9.001316) – the visit of the Gorges of Ait Mansour (29.547784, -8.873434) with a return via Tizerkine and the Zaouia and Mosque of Timguidcht (29.545152, -8.786724) – Hikes in the Jbel Lkest and the rock carving of Tazka (gazelle).

Day 05

From Tafraoute, take the R104 northbound and follow the R105 towards Ida Ougnidif / Agadir.
At the Kasbah of Tizourgane (a recommended visit), you have several options for reaching Ait Baha: follow the R105 or turn left for more beautiful but winding roads (in particular those of Ait Messaoud).
Once you arrive at Ait Baha, head in the direction of Agadir.
