From Agadir, follow the N10 towards Taroudant. Count on it taking 1 hour and 30 minutes before you’ll be able to see the ramparts of Taroudant. If you have time, the palm grove of Tioute (30.393457, -8.689714) is located just 20 kilometers from Taroudant (southeast by way of the R109).

Day 02

From Taroudant, take the P1706 to Aoulouz, then take the N10 back to Taliouine. The Taliouine Kasbah can be admired from the adjoining Guest House / Escale Rando. You should also take advantage of your time in this area to pay a visit to a cooperative specialized in everything related to the cultivation of Saffron. Remember: you are in the capital of Saffron. Once you have passed Taliouine, turn right (30.471271, -7.842794) and continue on the P1743 road towards Agadir Melloul and Akka Ighane. The road slaloms between the mountains and takes you across the Anti-Atlas via several passes over 1700 meters. The rocks are multicolored and the landscapes are breathtaking. The landscape is dotted with a few nomadic tents, a few herds and a few villages. At the Akka Ighane Oasis, you have 2 options: -Head north and sleep in one of the most beautiful mountain oases in Morocco: Aguinane (30.206741, -7.561984). The route is a treat for photographers and the oasis deserves a night spent there. -or continue down the P1743 road and join the N12 20km further ahead. There is the possibility of visiting 2 ancient fortified villages Tissekmoudine (29.963018, -7.551340) and Agadir Aserghine (29.948410, -7.565535). At the intersection with the N12, turn left to stop at Tissint – Akka N’ait Sidi. There are camp possibilities at Akka N’ait Sidi where you will discover a lunar landscape as you approach the canyons (29.925700, -7.344100). You are spoiled for choices of a stroll. There are palm groves, canyons and mountains everywhere. In Tissint there are salt water cascades (29.905632, -7.315468). You can walk along the banks, cool off and even swim. It is from the waterfalls that we can also visit the house in which Charles de Foucauld lived. Everyone in the area knows it.

Day 03

From Tissint-Akka N’ait Sidi, head west on the N12 towards Tata. In Tata, you have the opportunity to visit several oases and the ruins of Mellah de Tazart (29.663928, -7.939902), described by Charles de Foucauld. The site is really impressive and you should definitely stop and take a tour. The oases around Tata (Agadir Lehna – 29.765462, -7.982047, Tighremt, Indfiane, Taourirt, Sounh, etc.) are located on the fertile edges of the oueds. From the shade of palm groves, we can see the local inhabitants working and irrigating small agricultural plots. Each oasis demonstrates its ingenuity for the distribution of water (network of distribution channels, retention basin, clepsydra). The springs, khettaras and wells provide the oasis with both drinking and irrigation water. When you are ready to hit the road, take the R109 in the direction of Imitek. Nearby, there is the possibility of taking a walk in the Gorges d’Agouliz (allow 2 hours for this detour) or Aygou. Otherwise turn left (29.850078, -8.529900) on the R106 (then the R105) until Tafraoute where you can stop. Another option: At the intersection of the R105 and R106, there is also the possibility of turning right and stopping off at the Kasbah of Tizourgane – Ida Ougnidif.

Day 04

You will have to spend at least one day in Tafraoute . Very early in the morning, or at sunset, Tafraoute shows it true worth. At an altitude of 1000 m, Tafraoute is surrounded by blocks of pink granite which form a mountain range. You are spoiled for choice considering the amount of activities available to you (Painted rocks , Ait Mansour, hiking in the valley or Jbel Lkest , etc …). The small market in the center of Tafraoute offers typical crafts from the region (multicolored round-toed slippers, basketwork, etc.)

Day 05

From Tafraoute, we advise you to take the R104 in the direction of Tiznit , which crosses a succession of hilly landscapes and takes you past the Col du Kerdous to descend towards the coast. To make the most of it, avoid driving in the afternoon in the direction of Tafraoute-Tiznit, otherwise you will be driving with the sun in your eyes. 3 km from Tafraoute, you will find the village of Aday (29.706268, -9.001365) which is built in the middle of a jumble of rocks. The beauty is just like a postcard and will be a keepsake of this beautiful region for you. Once you arrive in Tiznit , take a walk within the walls (Place du Mechouar) and discover all the charm of this city on foot.

Day 06

Departing from Tiznit, head northeast for a detour to Aglou beach (29.803849, -9.830438) where you head further north via the coastal track if your car allows it: starting point (29.803593 , -9.825241), arrival point (29.887351, -9.716392) before joining the N1 road towards Agadir. There are several possible steps including Sidi R’bat ( mouth of the Oued Massa ) or the village of Tifnit (fishing village) to eat.
